More Downtown Improvements on the Horizon for Fayetteville Main Street
Fayetteville Main Street is thrilled to announce that the City of Fayetteville, TN has been awarded a $225,000 Downtown Improvements Grant with total project value of $300,000! This competitive annual grant, awarded to Tennessee cities, is facilitated by Fayetteville Main Street and the South Central Tennessee Development District. Fayetteville’s last award was in 2018, making this grant a significant opportunity to enhance our downtown.
The grant will support two major improvements to boost the downtown experience for both residents and visitors:
1. The public enhancement portion will include a new downtown parklet and additional lighting along the greenway to better connect Stone Bridge Park with the heart of downtown. These updates will enhance public safety and make our downtown more inviting.
2. Close to $150,000 of the grant will be allocated for property owner improvements within the Main Street district.Property owners will have the opportunity to apply for up to $15,000 in exterior improvements, with applications opening in January. A dedicated committee will select the recipients for these funds to ensure impactful enhancements throughout the district.
Stay tuned for further updates in December as we move forward with these exciting downtown improvements!
Many thanks to Joe Edmondson, Mayor Donna Hartman, Administrator Kevin Owens, City of Fayetteville TN Parks & Recreation Department Director Nathan Browning, and the City Aldermen for the support of our application!
